Derrick transitions from grocery to beauty at Shoppers

Derrick Pittman’s retail career began in 1993 in the Loblaw bakery department, where he quickly learned the ins and outs of the business. Over the next 30 years, he steadily climbed the ladder—holding positions from Store Manager to District Manager and eventually Vice President of Operations across Loblaws, Zehrs, Provigo, and Market Franchise. In 2023, he served as the Senior Vice President (SVP), Operations for Real Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, and Market Franchise, cementing his reputation as a seasoned operator who understands retail at every level. The beauty of connection

Like many of us, I am in a personal season of transition that is sometimes really difficult to navigate. But despite what I’m going through, I show up to work every day and act like nothing’s wrong. The truth is, we ALL have our good and bad days. My relationships with my work family often provide me with comfort, support, and a distraction from my reality. I believe that many of my customers visit me for the same reasons.
