Made for summer moments

For Anthony Digiacomo, Senior Director of Sourcing - Deli, Meals & Bakery (and number one Insiders fan), the PC^® Summer Insiders Report is more than a seasonal product launch. It is a celebration of the people, creativity, and teamwork behind every item.

“To me, every edition of the PC^® Insiders Report is an inspiring showcase of our enterprise talent and leadership within the industry,” says Anthony. “Every single item in the book requires the creativity, competence, collaboration, and commitment of our colleagues.”

From early concept to final product on shelf, each item reflects the work of teams across the business. Whether it is sourcing ingredients, developing flavours, testing recipes, building customer excitement or bringing products to stores, there is a lot happening behind the scenes before a customer ever takes that first bite.

“Turning a concept into commercial success is no joke,” Anthony says. “In that sense, the book is always kind of a miracle; and it serves as a living embodiment of our collective purpose.”

This year’s PC^® Summer Insiders Report Collection is all about helping Canadians make the most of summer with products that are flavourful, convenient, fun and easy to enjoy. Anthony says customers continue to look to us for “outstanding innovation, global food inspiration, value and convenience."

Among Anthony’s favourites are the PC^® Squeeze and Drizzle Deli Spreads, which make it easy to add flavour to sandwiches, salads, wraps, veggies, bowls, burgers and summer BBQ favourites. He is also a fan of the long-awaited PC^® Decadent Chocolate Chip Muffins, a rich, indulgent nod to the iconic PC^® Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie.

But one product surprised him most: the new Mexican-inspired PC^® Elote Street Corn Dip.

“I’m generally pretty boring on the dip front — it’s mostly hummus at our house — but this stuff had me scraping the bowl.”

Anthony especially recommends pairing it with PC^® Kettle Style Sea Salt Tortilla Chips.

And when it comes to the product he would bring to a summer BBQ, cottage weekend, picnic or family gathering, his answer is easy: “The PC^® Triplelicious Very Strawberry Cheesecake Layered Pie — hands down,” he says. “It’s the number one item in the book, and it’s selling out fast. I take every opportunity I can get to brag about the team who brought this amazing product to Canadians.”
